Change Is The Process

Change is inevitable. As individuals we grow, shift and pivot, that’s the beauty in what it means to truly be alive, yet the past will always be carried with us in some capacity. That pain and the weight won’t ever really go away, but how you use it to fuel your path forward is one of the most important decision you will ever make. Mine goes into my work, every mark and line is pulled from that deep reservoir of my life’s experiences. It’s how I process the world, consider my actions and chart my growth. Each drawing is a snippet of my thought process. It’s my where my humanity and sanity pair with my hands to create a moment in time that will live on outside of itself. When I’m done with that moment, I try my best to leave the parts of me that hurt with it, then put it out into the world. That’s how I move forward. Creating, changing and pushing myself into something new, gradually shifting and healing until I become something else entirely. Everyone always asks what the root of my creativity is and for me it’s simple....all I’m doing is just constantly navigating away from and back to myself over and over again. Change is the process.
